The Online Influence Awards 2020
The UK continues to adjust to and reflect on a volatile year, from the upheaval caused by COVID-19 to the fight for inclusivity forcing much-needed conversations and actions across the country.
Recognising these monumental societal shifts, we wanted to deliver the Online Influence Awards for 2020 in a safe, accessible and inclusive way.
In 2020 we took the Online Influence Awards entirely online, from the nomination process through to the judging day and the awards night itself. You can catch up on all the action using the hashtag #OIAwards20.
Along with bringing the awards from the stage to the living room, we revamped our shortlisting process. With the aim of growing and diversifying the influencers we celebrate, nominations for each award have come from either the influencer themselves or their peers, fans and supporters.
On judging day, our independent judges selected winners from shortlists across 14 categories: Arts & Entertainment, Beauty, Current Affairs, Disruptor/Changemaker, Fashion, Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, Interior Design, LGBTQ+, Lifestyle, Parenting, PR & Comms, Travel & Leisure and Newcomer.
We believe this process led to a more inclusive awards, with influencers from all channels and backgrounds competing side by side.
