UK PR gets ‘mojo’ back as fee incomes cross £1bn mark: PRWeek Top 150 PR consultancies
The UK PR industry has got its ‘mojo’ back, concludes PRWeek after a study showed that fee incomes earned by top agencies crossed the £1bn mark in 2014, a 10% increase from the previous year.
The Top 150 PR consultancies list, which ranks agencies according to fee income, found that when adjusted for inflation, the real growth in 2014 was nearly double the real growth for 2013. Moreover, of the Top 150 in the list, only 18 agencies reported reduced incomes, reflecting overall growth for the industry that has indeed bounced back from the recession.
Edelman PR toppled Brunswick from the top spot of the table after taking home close to £51m in fee income last year.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies made it to the top three, up from the seventh spot it occupied last year.
PRWeek pegged Portland and Exposure as two of the best performers this year with fee incomes up by a whopping 70% and 51% respectively.
