News & Current Affairs
- BBC Cymru Wales has appointed Garmon Rhys as head of news. He will lead the development of all news and current affairs services across online, mobile, radio and television
- Tom Rowley has been appointed foreign correspondent at The Economist. He was previously special correspondent at the Daily Telegraph
- Brynmor Pattison has been appointed deputy editor at the Irish Mirror Online
- Charlotte Green is now senior reporter at Trinity Mirror. She will continue to report across the Accrington Observer, Rossendale Free Press and Manchester Evening News
- Sam Beamish has been appointed reporter at the Dorset Echo
- The North West Evening Mail has relaunched and is now known as The Mail
Lifestyle
- Immediate Media Co. have announced the launch of a new monthly print magazine titled In The Moment, dedicated to helping women make the most of every day with mindfulness, creativity and wellbeing. The new magazine is edited by Jules Taylor
- Carrie Lyell has been appointed as the new editor at DIVA magazine. She was previously deputy editor at the title and replaces former editor Jane Czyzselska. Roxy Bourdillon has now taken over as deputy editor at the title
- Paul Larkins has been appointed editor at Trail Running
- Tim Heap has been promoted to assistant editor at Attitude and winq
Fashion
- The Sunday Times has appointed Jane McFarland to the position of fashion director, working primarily across Style magazine. Jane, a former fashion writer for The Times, joins from MATCHESFASHION.COM where she was senior fashion features editor. Jane takes up her new position in September
- Hattie Crisell has been appointed acting fashion editor at The Times covering Harriet Walker’s maternity leave
- Laura Antonia Jordan has been appointed fashion news and features editor at Grazia magazine
- Kat Hill has been promoted to assistant editor at Scratch magazine. She was previously news and features writer at the title
Business & Finance
- The Mark Allen Group has acquired Kent-based Unity Media Plc and its sister company, Unity Exhibitions Ltd. Unity Media publishes a number of built environment titles including Roofing, Cladding & Insulation (RCI), Glass & Glazing, Heating & Plumbing Monthly, Building Products and Your Build. Unity Media will be moving from its offices in Sevenoaks in July to MAG’s Dartford base. The Mark Allen Group publishes a number of other business titles based in Dartford, including Eureka, New Electronics, Machinery, Works Management, Fast, Plant Engineer, Transport Engineer, Recycling & Waste World and Ground Handling International
- Richard Clayton has been appointed chief correspondent at Lloyd’s List
- There have been a couple of appointments at the Telegraph Media Group. Sophie Christie has been appointed digital producer, business and personal finance. She was previously a consumer reporter at The Sun Online. Meanwhile Sam Meadows has been appointed personal finance reporter. Sam was previously chief reporter at the Hertfordshire Mercury
Law
- Marco Cillario has been appointed reporter at Legal Business
Food & Drink
- Off Licence News has been rebranded and is now called Drinks Retailing News. It coincides with Agile Media, which has published the title under licence for many years, taking full ownership of the magazine from William Reed
- Newhall Publishing Ltd is relaunching Boughton’s Coffee House with a new look and new editor. The trade title will now be a 52-page bi-monthly magazine with the first issue available in August 2017 and is now edited by Jennie Milsom
- Melissa Stewart has been appointed editor at Crumbs Devon replacing Charlie Lyon. Melissa was previously editor at Asian Wealth magazine
Travel
- Sophy Grimshaw has been appointed editor at MO, Mandarin Oriental’s luxury travel magazine. While Hannah Hudson has been appointed deputy editor. The title is now published by Cedar Communications Ltd
- Florence Derrick has been appointed deputy editor at b inspired, the in-flight magazine for Brussels Airlines. She was previously associate editor at easyJet Traveller
Technology
- Sam Trendall has been appointed editor at PublicTechnology.net. Sam was previously content editor at Channelnomics Europe
Motoring
- Matt Saunders has been appointed road test editor at Autocar. He was previously chief tester at the title
