- Katharine Viner has been appointed by The Scott Trust to succeed Alan Rusbridger when he steps down as editor-in-chief of Guardian News & Media in the summer. Katharine is currently deputy editor of the Guardian and editor-in-chief of Guardian US
- Kenny Farquharson has announced via Twitter he is joining the Scottish edition of The Times as columnist and senior writer on the Scottish edition. He is currently deputy editor at the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday:
- Michael Grant has been appointed Scottish football correspondent at The Times
- Jamie Grierson has announced via Twitter that he is joining the Guardian next week as a breaking news reporter. He is currently home affairs correspondent at the Press Association
- Ramzy Alwakeel has been appointed online news reporter at the London Evening Standard Online
- Matt Dathan has been appointed online political reporter at The Independent. He was previously with The Times
- Shyamantha Asokan has been appointed world news reporter at BuzzFeed UK
- The Financial Times has announced the appointment of Alex Barker in the new post of European diplomatic editor, based in Brussels; Henry Foy as central Europe correspondent, based in Warsaw. He was previously motor industry correspondent based in London; Duncan Robinson as EU correspondent based in Brussels; Lindsay Fortado as London-based legal correspondent; David Sheppard as deputy commodities editor; FT has also appointed Renée Kaplan in the newly created role of head of audience engagement; Bede McCarthy as director of product; Mark Alderson as head of operations for the newsroom, and Kevin Wilson as visual news editor
- Helia Ebrahimi has been appointed business correspondent at Channel4 News
- Dan Bloom has been appointed online news reporter at the Mirror Online. He was previously a news reporter at Mail Online
- The Manchester Evening News is launching Manchester Weekly News, a free newspaper that will be delivered to 265,000 homes from 2 April
- Johnston Press has launched BELFASTVIBE, a digital-led title aimed at 18-35-year-olds in the Northern Ireland capital
- Tui Benjamin has joined the Bolton News as a reporter. She was previously a reporter at the Bury Times and Radcliffe Times
- Ian Dipple has left his post as editor at Redditch Standard after four years in the role to take up a temporary position as communications manager at Wychavon District Council
- Charlotte Littlejones, head of digital at The Sentinel, has left the newspaper

- Sarah Raphael has been appointed acting editor at I-D Magazine, covering Holly Shackleton’s maternity leave
- Ian Parkes has announced via Twitter that he is to join Autosport as F1 editor where he succeeds current F1 editor Jon Noble. He is currently the motorsports correspondent at the Press Association
- William Connolly has been appointed editorial assistant at Gay Times
- Sarah Biddlecombe has been appointed online junior writer at stylist.co.uk
- Kirsty Hatcher has been promoted to staff writer at OK! magazine. She was previously editorial assistant at the publication
- Kate Hockenhull has been appointed picture editor at Sunday Times Travel Magazine
- Natasha Pearlman, the former deputy editor of Elle and The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, has been hired as the new editor of Grazia magazine
- Laura Snapes has announced via Twitter that she is leaving NME to go freelance
- What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision has appointed Ced Yuen as news editor and Andy Madden as content editor at the publication
- Eleanor Goodman has been appointed features editor at Metal Hammer
- Georgia Devon-Spick has been promoted to fashion and fitness editor at About Time. She was previously fashion editor at the website
- Mel Spencer has been appointed family editor at Gay Star News
- Hearst-Rodale, publisher of Men’s Health, Runner’s World and Women’s Health, has appointed Luke Robins to the position of sales director, Hearst-Rodale, and associate publisher, Men’s Health
- Joel Tadman has been appointed technical editor at Golf Monthly
- Cornwall Life magazine is set to go national from its April issue

- Nick Hill has been appointed Yorkshire correspondent at Bdaily Business News
- Carina Perkins has been appointed fresh foods editor at The Grocer
- Ashleigh Wight has been promoted to senior legal reporter at Road Transport Media Ltd’s Commercial Motor, Motor Transport and Truck and Driver magazines. She was previously a reporter for the titles
- Laura Syrett has been appointed acting editor at Industrial Minerals, covering for Siobhan Lismore-Scott who is on maternity leave
- John Underwood has been appointed staff writer at Spear’s magazine
- Taylist Media will relaunch ERT magazine, which will be relaunched and go monthly from April to mark the 125th birthday of the electrical retailing magazine

- Principal Research Fellow Dr Shereen Hussein has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Journal of Care Services Management
