News & Current Affairs
- The BBC has appointed Dan Roan as sports editor. He has been the BBC’s chief sports correspondent since April 2013
- BBC Northern Ireland has announced changes to BBC Radio Ulster’s daytime and weekend schedule and presenter line-up, commencing early November 2014. These include the introduction of a new dedicated business programme and changes to the presentation of programmes including Talkback and Sunday Sequence
- Mark Amory has retired from his role as literary editor at The Spectator
- The Derby Telegraph has redesigned its pages following a market research project earlier this year
- Mark Williams has been appointed crime reporter for Hull Daily Mail. Mark succeeds Jenna Thompson who is now deputy content editor at the publication
- Local World has relaunched the Hertfordshire Mercury and the Midweek Mercury (previously the Advertiser Group)
- Julie Palmer, editor of the Hertfordshire Mercury, has been appointed to the new position of senior editor for the Herts and Essex business. Julie will continue to be the editor of the Hertfordshire Mercury while also being responsible for co-ordinating editorial teams across the business.
Fashion, Lifestyle & Entertainment
- Susie Rushton has been appointed features editor at Vogue and Louisa McGillicuddy is now features assistant at the magazine
- Katy Moon has been appointed as a senior writer at Spirit & Destiny
- Lottie Covell has been appointed deputy food editor at Delicious magazine
- Archant Dialogue has launched ‘7’, a new magazine for Jeep Owners Group. The magazine is published in six languages and localised for eight markets including Austria, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Poland, Italy and the UK
- Decanter is expanding its editorial team with the appointment of Gerard Basset OBE as Burgundy correspondent and John Stimpfig as editorial content director.
- TVeasy is to merge with Time Inc. UK’s TV guide, What’s On TV
- Kelsey Media has announced the sale of its aviation and military history portfolio (Aeroplane Monthly, Classic Military Vehicles and Jets) to Key Publishing

- Chris Havergal has been appointed reporter at the Times Higher Education. He was previously local government reporter at the Cambridge News
- Nick Golding has been appointed editor at LGC Local Government Chronicle. He was previously acting editor at the title
Health, Science & Technology
- Jon Hicks is leaving his role as editor-in-chief of Xbox: the Official Magazine. Alex Dale and Kate Gray have joined the title as deputy editor and staff writer respectively
- Michael Moore has joined Tech Week Europe as a reporter
- Matt Hill has been appointed editor of Gizmodo UK. He moves from T3 and will begin his new role on 1 Oct
