News & current affairs

• Nicholas Watt has been appointed political editor at Newsnight. He is currently the chief political correspondent at the Guardian
• The Manchester Evening News has been relaunched with a new look. The title now includes a new Travel section on Monday and new Home supplement on Tuesday. The relaunch follows on from those that have occurred at the Birmingham Mail and Liverpool Echo
• Suzanne Cleave has been appointed editor at the Cornish & Devon Post. She was previously deputy editor and succeeds Colin Brent who has now retired
• Amber Hicks has been appointed reporter at the Swindon Advertiser. She was previously a reporter at Wiltshire Gazette & Herald
• Clare Pizey has taken on editorial control of Top Gear. Pizey, head of factual entertainment at the BBC for seven years, will work alongside series editor Alex Renton and studio editor Martin Dance
• Presenter Martin Kelner has left BBC Radio Leeds

Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment

• Sarah Tomczak has been appointed deputy editor at Red. She was previously the features director at the publication
• Bauer Media has launched a new publication, Modern Gardens. The publication joins Bauer Media’s other two gardening titles, Garden News and Garden Answers
• Iceberg Press has purchased Oh Comely magazine from Adeline Media. Iceberg Press will publish Oh Comely from Issue 30, alongside monthly sister title, The Simple Things magazine. Former editor of lifestyle craft title Mollie Makes, Lara Watson, has been appointed Editor from Issue 31
• James Gill has been appointed executive editor – film at ShortList magazine. He will switch roles on 29 March. Gill was previously content solutions editor at Shortlist Media
• Zoe Wright has been appointed as deputy editor at Take A Break. She was previously the deputy editor at that’s life!
• Laura Cole has been appointed deputy editor at that’s life! Additionally Kate Woolley has been promoted to features editor, Joe Brothwell has been appointed associate editor and Carly Read joins the team as feature writer
• Lisa Blake has been appointed celebrity editor at Reveal. She was previously acting news editor at OK!
• Sarah Bradbury has been appointed fashion and beauty writer at Now Magazine having previously been junior style writer. Sarah will join Now’s fashion and beauty editor, Lydia Thompson, covering all content concerning fashion, beauty and home for both the magazine and online. Sarah would like to receive information on new launches and products for fashion, beauty and home
• Ben Winstanley has been appointed staff writer at Square Mile and Hedge magazines. He was previously a feature writer at Publican’s Morning Advertiser
• Emie James-Crook has been appointed fashion assistant at Esquire. She was previously fashion assistant at The Times Magazine
• Nicola Rayner has been appointed acting editor at Discover Britain
• Duncan Hall has been appointed assistant editor at Sussex Life

Business and finance

• Haymarket Media Group are bringing together its Media Week and Marketing brands under the Campaign banner. Content from Media Week, Marketing and Brand Republic will be integrated into the Campaign site. From May 9th an extended weekly Campaign magazine will be published and a new quarterly title introduced. Current Marketing editor Rachel Barnes will become Campaign UK’s editor reporting to Campaign’s global editor in chief Claire Beale
• Kevin Scott has been appointed business correspondent at The Herald. He was previously the editor at Scottish Local Retailer
• Kathy Bowry has been appointed editor at Laundry and Cleaning News
• Rosalie Starling has been appointed editor at Hydrocarbon Engineering. She was previously deputy editor at the title
• Tom Dines has been promoted to deputy editor at Pensions Expert. He was previously a reporter at the title
• Catherine Murray has been appointed deputy editor at Schools Week. She was previously managing editor at Netmums
• Emily Hardy has been appointed reporter at Retail Week

• Mike Plant has been appointed features editor at Computeractive. He was previously senior online writer at Which?
