- Johnston Press has agreed a £17m deal to sell 13 of its newspapers. The company says, subject to shareholder approval, a conditional agreement to sell the entire issued share capital of Johnston Publishing East Anglia Limited has been reached with Iliffe Media. Titles affected include the Bury Free Press, Lynn News and Lincolnshire Free Press
- Pat Leahy has been appointed political editor at the Irish Times. He replaces Stephen Collins who has stepped down after 11 years in the post. Collins will continue to contribute to Irish Times political coverage, and will write a weekly column, starting in the new year, which will appear on Thursdays
- Katy Balls has been appointed political correspondent at The Spectator
- Dimitri Kondonis has joined as one of the editors at YAHOO! SPORT (UK). He was previously a reporter at Get Surrey
- Alistair Grant has left his role as city council reporter at the Edinburgh Evening News. He is set to join the Sunday Post in the New Year
Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment
- Claire Sanderson has been appointed as the new editor at Women’s Health. She joins from The Sun where she is currently associate features editor and starts her role on 16 January
- Leonie Bradley has been appointed as the new editor at Printmaking Today
- Vicki Notaro has been appointed as the new editor at STELLAR magazine
- Carl Smith has been appointed digital lead at heatworld.com
- Laura Hawkins has been appointed online fashion and jewellery editor at Wallpaper*
- Clementine Brown has been promoted to senior fashion assistant at Sunday Times Style. She was previously fashion assistant at the title
- Team Rock, the music magazine publisher, has announced that it has gone into administration. Management of the company transferred to administrators FRP Advisory while a buyer for its Classic Rock, Metal Hammer and Prog magazine titles is sought. The Team Rock website will also be unavailable for the forseeable future
- Rick Pearson has left his role as editor at Men’s Running

- Amy Frizell has been appointed business night news editor at the Daily Telegraph
- Padraig Hoare has been appointed business reporter at the Irish Examiner. He was previously acting political editor at the Evening Echo
- Elliot Smith has been appointed regulation correspondent at New Model Adviser
- Donna Ahern has been appointed news editor at Checkout magazine
- Alex Matchett has left his role as head of research and assistant editor at Spear’s
