News & current affairs
- As previously reported in December, Iliffe Media has now completed the acquisition of 13 newspaper titles and their associated websites and editions from Johnston Press. The purchase covers Bourne Local, Bury Free Press, Diss Express, Fenland Citizen, Grantham Journal, Haverhill Echo, Lincs Free Press, Lynn News, Newmarket Journal, Rutland Times, Spalding Guardian, Stamford Mercury and Suffolk Free Press and their associated editions and websites
- Trinity Mirror has amalgamated the Walsall Advertiser and Great Barr Observer into a single newspaper. The paper retains separate editions for each patch featuring a localised front page and sports coverage, and is either known as the ‘Walsall Advertiser incorporating the Great Barr Observer’ or ‘the Great Barr Observer incorporating the Walsall Advertiser’ depending on where it is distributed. The Advertiser and Observer have also retained their own websites and social media channels following the changes
- David Byers has changed his role at The Times and is now assistant editor (property & personal finance). He was previously a news editor at the title
- Elizabeth Davis has been appointed senior content editor at Classic FM Interactive
- Sam Corbishley has been appointed reporter at the Brent & Kilburn Times
- Luke Page is to leave his role as content editor at the Diss Express at the end of the week
Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment
- Charlotte Hollands has been appointed associate publisher at Good Housekeeping. She takes up her new position on 1 February. Also at the title, Megan Sutton has now been appointed digital writer
- Danielle Lett has been appointed deputy editor at Soul & Spirit magazine. She was previously acting deputy editor at the title
- Simon Weir has been appointed editor at RiDE. He was previously deputy editor at the title and replaces former editor Colin Overland
- Jessica Gibb has been appointed showbiz reporter at Mirror Online. She was previously an online reporter at OK Online
- Jenny Proudfoot has been appointed digital writer at Marie Claire. She was previously features assistant at the title. Also at the title, Natalie Westernoff has been appointed fashion assistant
- JJ Anisiobi has been appointed digital news editor at OK! He was previously senior showbiz and TV writer at Mirror Online
- Victoria Williams has been appointed community and product reviews manager at sofeminine
- Adam Bush has been appointed cookery writer at olive magazine
- Kelly Allen has taken over the Showbiz Life column at Sunday Life
Business and finance
- Jonathan Rowland has been appointed editor at World Cement
- Helen Robertson has been promoted to managing editor at Petroleum Economist. She was previously associate editor at the title
- Emily Gosden has been appointed energy editor at The Times. She joins from the Daily Telegraph where she held the same role
- Eleanor Duncan has been appointed deputy content plus editor at FTAdviser. She was previously deputy features editor at Investment Adviser
- Mikkel Stern-Peltz has been promoted to news editor at unquote”. He was previously a senior reporter at the title
- Alex Sword has been appointed staff writer at Mobile Europe and European Communication. He was previously a reporter at Computer Business Review
- Natalie Keeler has been appointed editorial assistant at Independent School Parent. She was previously editorial staff writer at FundEd & PTA+ Magazine
