News & current affairs

• Gordon Smart, deputy editor at The Sun, has announced that he is leaving the title after 14 years
• Jonathan Petre, religion and education correspondent at the Mail on Sunday, is set to leave his role to take up a position as head of media for the Archibishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace. Jonathan will take up his new role at the end of January
• Judith Duffy has been promoted to chief reporter at the Sunday Herald. She was previously senior general news reporter at the title
• Mark Ogden has left his role as chief football correspondent at the Independent and is to join ESPN as senior football writer
• Beth Sharp has been appointed senior reporter at the Southern Daily Echo. She was previously a reporter at the Sidmouth Herald
• Colin Paterson has been appointed editor at the East Kilbride News. He was previously sports editor at the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser
• Eastbourne Gazette closed its print edition on November 1st. The paper has been folded into the Eastbourne Herald and there has been no job losses
• Erin Hutcheon has left her role as reporter at the Derry Journal

Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment

• Wedding Ideas Magazine is to relaunch with a new look from January 2017. The title will now be twice as big as before and more widely available in supermarkets, newsagents and leading bridal boutiques
• Ray Murphy has been promoted to editor at PORT across print and digital. He was previously deputy editor and online editor at the title
• Jonathan Crocker has been appointed editor at b inspired, Brussels Airlines’ in-flight magazine
• Rachel Jones has been appointed acting deputy editor at Bella from her previous role as celebrity director. Additionally Kate Randall is returning to the title as acting celebrity editor on November 14
• Clare Macnaughton has been appointed editor at Wiltshire View and Hampshire View. She replaces former editor Heidi King
• Hannah Moore has been appointed acting fashion and beauty director at Conde Nast Traveller covering Fiona Joseph’s maternity leave
• Nicole Gray has been appointed acting interiors editor at the Mail on Sunday’s YOU Magazine covering Clare Nolan’s maternity leave. Additionally Luisa Metcalfe has been appointed features editor at the title. She was previously UK assistant Femail editor at MailOnline
• Luciana Bellini has been promoted to deputy digital editor at Tatler. She was previously assistant editor at the title
• Eilidh Greig has been appointed fashion editor at MR PORTER. She was previously fashion editor at ShortList. Additionally Anish Patel has been appointed commissioning editor where he will be commissioning features content and writing about menswear and grooming for the journal. He was previously menswear and grooming editor at ES Magazine
• Ben Winstanley has been appointed associate editor at Square Mile and Hedge magazines. He was previously staff writer at these titles
• Phil de Semlyen has been appointed news editor at Empire. He was previously online staff writer at the title
• Michael Jennings has been appointed junior fitness editor at Men’s Health
• Lizzie Frainier has been promoted to editorial assistant at Food and Travel. She was previously web executive at the title
• Hana Carter has been appointed editorial assistant across Woman and Woman’s Own

Business and finance

• TTG has made a number of appointments. Current news editor Sophie Griffiths will become the new editor in January where she will have responsibility for both the weekly magazine and ttgmedia.com. Current editor Pippa Jacks will be promoted to the newly created position of group editor, a role she will also take up in January. Also at the title, Abigail Healy is being promoted to features editor, following the upcoming departure of Katherine Lawrey on November 17
• Hannah Hudson has been appointed deputy editor at Business Life and First magazines. Previously digital editor at The Club (theclub.ba.com) Hannah is interested in hearing about trends, tech and talent (particularly entrepreneurs) as well as luxury brands
• Jack Courtez has been appointed news editor at Mobile Magazine
• Nick Reeve has been appointed deputy news editor at Investment & Pensions Europe. He was previously European editor at Chief Information Officer
• Jessica Nangle has been appointed reporter at Mortgage Introducer
