News & current affairs
- Donalda Mackinnon has been appointed as director of BBC Scotland with responsibility for BBC Scotland content across radio, television and online. She replaces Ken MacQuarrie who has recently been appointed BBC Director, Nations and Regions
- Adam Cumiskey has been appointed assistant editor on BBC Two’s Newsnight. He was previously a senior producer on the Today Programme
- John Stevens is now the Whitehall editor at the Daily Mail. He moves from his previous role as Europe correspondent
- Steve Wilson is set to leave his role as European sports editor at the Associated Press to take up a role with the ITF. He takes up his new role on 9 January
- Hayley Minn has been appointed online live TV reporter at Mirror Online. She was previously online TV reporter at OK!
- Lydia Morris has been appointed what’s on and tourism writer at the Daily Post (Wales)
Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment
- Perfect Wedding is relaunching with a brand-new look and an increased size from the March issue. It will be showcasing real-life weddings, expert advice, health and diet tips alongside honeymoon ideas, emotional support, fashion and practical budgeting tips
- Michael Hall has been appointed new editor at the Burlington Magazine. He will take up the role on 2 May 2017 and replaces Frances Spalding who left in August 2016
- Emily Berry has been appointed new editor at Poetry Review. She succeeds Maurice Riordan and the Spring 2017 issue will be her first as editor
- Simon Caney has been appointed new editor at Garden News
- Emily Murray has been appointed acting editor at i-on magazine covering Nicky Howden’s maternity leave
- Sam Carder has been appointed fashion editor at ShortList replacing Eilidh Greig
- Sarah Alcock has been appointed digital content editor at Asda Good Living. She was previously digital content editor at Sainsbury’s Magazine
- Catherine Austen has been appointed hunting editor at Horse & Hound. She replaces Polly Portwin who left the title on 25 November
- There have been a couple of changes at Reveal. Claire Hubble has been appointed acting senior celebrity writer covering Lauren Hill-Roger’s maternity leave. Additionally Grace Henry has joined the title as acting junior celebrity writer
- Delphine Chui has been appointed digital features editor at Marie Claire
- There have been a couple of changes at THE RAKE. Charlie Thomas has been promoted to associate editor from his previous position as editorial associate. Additionally Anna Prendergast has been appointed online editorial assistant. She was previously an intern at the site
- Sophie Bronstein has been appointed acting beauty writer at Dare and Superdrug Loves. Additionally Mollie Hammond has been appointed editorial assistant across these titles. Former beauty writer Leanne Wilcox has now left
- Dennis Publishing is proposing to close the print edition of COACH magazine with the issue dated Wednesday 14th December being its last. The brand will transition to an online-only model with COACHmag.co.uk
Business and finance
- Rana Foroohar is joining the Financial Times as global business columnist and associate editor. She will be based in New York and is due to start on March 1st
- Adam Parsons has been appointed business correspondent at Sky News. He joins in the New Year from his current role as presenter of BBC Radio 5 Live’s ‘Wake Up To Money’
- Adam Lovell, has announced via Twitter, that he is stepping down in January as editor at Insider (Yorkshire). Ian Leech, current business editor, will be taking over in the New Year
- Louise Hill has been appointed news reporter at Portfolio Adviser. She was previously a news reporter at the Bracknell News
- Tom Wilson has been appointed senior researcher and writer at Which? Money. He was previously product researcher and writer at Moneywise
- David Lindsell has left his role as news editor at Estates Gazette
Health, science and technology
- There have been a couple of promotions at the Health Service Journal. David Williams is now the bureau chief and Lawrence Dunhill is now senior correspondent
- Katharine Byrne has now started her role as news editor at MCV
- Micro Mart magazine has announced it will close at the end of the year. The final issue will go out on 29 December
