News & Current Affairs
- Iliffe Media Ltd has acquired the entire shareholding of Kent’s independent publisher KM Media Group Ltd. The KM Media Group publishes nine paid-for and four free newspapers including the Kent Messenger, Kentish Gazette and the website KentOnline.co.uk. This follows on from Iliffe’s purchase in February of 13 titles from Johnston Press in East Anglia and the East Midlands
- Guardian News and Media editor-in-chief Katharine Viner has announced that John Mulholland, editor of The Observer, will take on the interim leadership of Guardian US, during the maternity leave of Guardian US editor Lee Glendinning. John will be based in Guardian US’s New York headquarters from July until Autumn, after which time he will return to continue his Observer editorship. The Observer’s deputy editor, Paul Webster, will edit the paper during this period. Malik Meer will also join The Observer senior team as assistant editor working across news and features, on secondment from his role as features editor at the Guardian
- Jasper Jackson has been appointed digital editor at the New Statesman. Jasper was previously assistant media editor at The Guardian. Jasper starts his role on May 8. Also joining the title will be Chris Deerin who joins as contributing editor (Scotland). Chris is currently working as director of external relations at the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University
- Sarah Burns has been appointed reporter at The Irish Times. She previously worked for the Irish Daily Mail
- Sam Blewett has been appointed Los Angeles correspondent at the Press Association. He was previously a reporter at the news service
Media & Communications
- Amol Rajan has been named as the new presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Media Show succeeding Steve Hewlett who passed away in February. Amol is currently the media editor at BBC News and will take up his presenting duties from the 10 May
- Jill Sherman has left her role as media editor at The Times having been with the paper for 30 years
Business & Finance
- Katie Jacobs has been appointed editor at Supply Management. Katie was previously editor at HR Magazine
- Jenny Roper is now the editor at HR Magazine succeeding Katie Jacobs. Jenny was previously deputy editor at the title
- Tanya Blake has been appointed editor at IHS Safety At Sea
- Jason McGee-Abe has been promoted to editor at Capacity. He was previously news and content editor at the title
- Becky Wilson has been promoted to editor at Recruitment International. She was previously editorial assistant at the title
- Rachel Boagey has been appointed features editor at BusinessCar. She was previously assistant editor at Professional Engineering
- Portia Crowe has been appointed investment banking correspondent at Financial News
- TraderLife, a website focusing specifically on the lifestyle of traders, has now launched. Edited by Alexis James, the website covers business, investments, travel, fitness, events, fashion, food, cars, property and culture. Alexis is interested in hearing pitches from freelance writers and PRs

- Claudia Tanner has been appointed health reporter at MailOnline. Claudia was a former deputy editor at Candis
Food & Drink
- Eamonn Crowe has been promoted to news editor at SquareMeal. He was previously deputy news and online editor at the title
Lifestyle
- Hattie Brett has been appointed editor at the Telegraph’s Luxury supplement replacing Belinda White
- Vicky Warrell has been promoted to content writer across Your Fitness and Natural Health. She was previously editorial assistant at Your Fitness
- Megan Hills has been appointed digital editorial assistant at Marieclaire.co.uk
Arts & Entertainment
- Andy Price has been appointed editor at Music Tech Magazine and starts his role today
- Tom Parsons has been appointed reviews editor at What Hi-Fi? Tom was previously deputy editor at Stuff.tv. Also at the title, Kashfia Kabir is now features editor moving from her previous role as first tests editor
Technology
- Nate Lanxon has now been appointed consumer technology reporter at Bloomberg. He was previously team leader at EMEA technology
