The UK’s top technology tweeters
To mark the occasion, I wanted to give some examples of the ways in which Cision is using this data to rank influence in various sectors and on various platforms. Today, the UK’s Top 10 Tech Tweeters:
- Stephen Fry
- Zee M Kane
- Jason Bradbury
- Suzi Perry
- Mike Butcher
- Rory Cellan Jones
- Jemima Kiss
- Wil Harris
- Christian Payne
- Jack Schofield
There are few media platforms, social or otherwise, wherein the flow of information, and therefore the relative “influence” of the users, is quite so quantitatively explicit. For this Top 10, we’ve combined data on followers, following, updates and retweets in a Twitter influence algorithm.
While it’s no surprise to see Stephen Fry heading the list, the extent to which the BBC and the Guardian are represented tends to confirm the suspicion that Twitter is as much a channel for amplifying the mainstream as it is social media.
