Why did you decide to start blogging?

I seem to be the ‘go to’ person that all my friends (Facebook and real ones) come to for advice on makeup, skincare and all things related. I am forever getting messages asking for advice on what makeup brushes to buy on a budget, whether ‘those Cocowhite sachets’ actually work, and everything in between. They seem to trust my opinion and advice, so I thought perhaps others would as well. I have always turned to blogs to read reviews  prior to buying certain products and decided to give it a go myself. ‘My So Kohl’d Life’ was born in May this year.

Why beauty and cosmetics?

I’m a trained makeup artist- I graduated from London College of Fashion in 2007 with a degree in Specialist makeup design and have continued to work as a makeup artist alongside my ‘real’ job ever since. I would also say I am obsessed with all things beauty related- I am a sucker for anything that will make me look prettier, younger and generally improve my looks. I like to think that I am able to use my knowledge and experience from working as makeup artist and apply this to my blog posts. Hopefully this offers a point of difference to other bloggers who perhaps are self taught (although many of my my favourite bloggers are self taught so this is in no way a criticism.)

Who or what would you say inspires you?

I am always inspired by other bloggers, as well as girls in the street- I’m forever stopping them to ask what shade their lipstick is or where their shoes came from.

What is your pitch to PRs? How would you prefer to be contacted by them?

I am a makeup artist and total beauty fanatic. My blog offers makeup and beauty reviews, tips and the odd lifestyle post thrown in for good measure. I am contactable by email, phone or by social media.
