Speedy Spotlight: Tidy Away Today

Tidy Away Today will be featured in this week’s Media Spotlights. Author Antonia Ludden spoke to Cision about home improvements, positive PR experiences and her favourite blog.

Why should people read your blog?
I hope people identify with what it is like trying to organise and improve a family home and maybe pick up and share some good ideas.

What makes your blog different?
I focus on interior design, DIY and making home improvements that are affordable and creative. It’s not all about replacing everything with brand spanking new, but changing what you already have for the better.

What’s your favourite blog and why?
IHeart Organizing was the first blog I got into and I still love it, it always inspires me to make home improvements and get organised.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog?
Definitely do it, you won’t regret it but it takes time to build an audience and it is a learning process so don’t get disheartened if things don’t take off immediately.

How does a good PR work with you?
I had a fantastic experience with Blue Rubicon recently, working on a project for DFS. They got it spot on from a blogger’s perspective, it was a very engaging idea that created original content for my blog and was a totally fun and rewarding day.

What do PRs do that’s bad?
I’ve not had many negative experiences, but I suppose being contacted about something completely irrelevant to my blog, which shows they haven’t bothered to read it, or pitching a great idea then not following through.

Do you have any surprising hobbies or interests?
Not really, but since starting my blog I’ve really got into transforming vintage furniture finds with paint and new accessories, such as quirky handles. I would also love to write a TV drama one day, too!
