Speedy Spotlight: The P-Ho Diaries

The P-Ho Diaries will be featured in this week’s Media Updates. Author Paula Holmes spoke to Cision about London life, featuring products and PRs pretending to care.

Why should people read your blog?
I like to think my blog is a little different, mixing the worlds of fashion, food and lifestyle all in one place. My content is unique and personal, and gives you a unique look into London life.

The most important issue in your blogosphere is… Making myself known! There are so many unknown blogs in the blogosphere so right now it’s all about promoting myself and my blog.

What’s your favourite blog and why?
It’s probably a really obvious choice but I love Bryan Boy, his coverage of the Fashion Weeks has been better than any brand and I really enjoy seeing what he gets up to next.

How often do you aim to post?
I aim to post every day. I always have an idea in my head, so I make sure I write it down and then I end up with a big list of content and work through it day-by-day.

How do you feel about guest posts?
I am happy to feature products on my site but I do write all the content myself; that way my blog stays true to me and hopefully my readers can see that. I do, however, love guest posting on brands’ sites, it’s a great way to publicise for them and me.

How does a good PR work with you?
I guess just building a relationship with me is most important thing. Taking the time to read my site, understand what I am about and what would work well for my readers. That way, I am more than likely to work with them again and build a great working relationship.

What do PRs do that’s bad?
Not having read my blog and sending a general email I think is really off-putting, it makes you feel just like another number. I think it is really important even if you are busy to at least include the person’s name and make it seem like you actually care (even if you don’t!).
