Speedy Spotlight: The Beauty Informer
The Beauty Informer was featured in the Media Updates. Here the author discusses her no-nonsense approach, good PR and the knowing the difference between a peptide and a paraben.
Why should people read your blog?
Because it informs, educates and entertains readers on all things beauty. Offering a no-nonsense approach, The Beauty Informer provides simple, honest information on all aspects of beauty and health – from skincare and colour cosmetics to hair care and diets. I research, review and report. So whether a reader is desperate to find out what the hell retinol is, or just wants a straight-forward review of the latest serum on the market, The Beauty informer is for them.
The most important issue in your blogosphere is… Beauty without the bulls**t!
What’s your favourite blog and why?
Essie Button has to be one of my favourite blogs. It is informative, fun and refreshingly honest. I am also a big fan of its author Estée’s YouTube channel. It is really nice to see a beauty YouTuber with real (uncontrived) spirit and personality.
How often do you aim to post?
I post at least five times a week, however I usually aim to post daily.
How do you feel about guest posts?
I think guest posts are great. They help to enrich the blogging community and provide support to up-and-coming bloggers. Guest posts also help me discover new and exciting blogs, which is always a bonus.
How does a good PR work with you?
By understanding the site and really knowing what information, products and news I’d be interested in hearing about. I also love speaking with knowledgeable PRs – it is always great talking to someone who is really passionate about the beauty industry and knows a peptide from a paraben.
What do PRs do that’s bad?
Pitch a product, service or event that isn’t relevant to the blog.
