Travel Blogs UK Top 10
The Top 10 Travel Blog ranking was last updated 24/07/2024.
Vuelio uses a proprietary algorithm to create these rankings, based on topic-related content in blogs on its system – you can read more about the process here. Our research team actively seeks out new blogs and bloggers for inclusion, but if you think we’ve missed someone, please get in touch to let us know.
Now boarding: our number one UK travel blog – ‘Hand Luggage Only’. Here, ‘like-minded travelers’ are served up stories and photos from bloggers Yaya Onalaja-Aliu and Lloyd Griffiths, who have been sharing their adventures since 2014. Hoping to ‘connect with other travelers across the globe and have a two-way conversation’, the pair have the lowdown on destinations, food, and hacks to try. Booking a plane ticket soon? Check out the latest advice from this blog to choose between locations including New York, Andorra, or even the South-East of England.
2. Global Grasshopper
Another non-mover in this year’s update of our UK travel blogs is ‘Global Grasshopper’ Becky Moore, who writes about ‘gorgeous travel destinations’, and offers her readers ‘inspiration for most of the continents in the world’. Hop over to this blog now to uncover hidden gems across North America, Europe, The Caribbean, South America, Asia, and Africa. Get started with recent posts on things to fall in love with in Seville, eco-hotel stays in the Austrian Alps near Salzburg, and trips to Banff and Jasper in Canada.
Moving up from number four this year are ‘Along Dusty Roads’ bloggers Andrew and Emily. Having started with a plan ‘to have an adventure’, the pair traveled Latin America for two years, which led them to launch this well-traveled and much-loved blog. ‘Travel is what makes us happy,’ say Andrew and Emily. ‘We created Along Dusty Roads because we wanted to help people travel more and travel better’. To help you travel better this year, check out recent in-depth guides on island-hopping in Greece, road tripping in Albania, finding the dolce vita in Italy, and hiking in Guatemala.
4. Nomadic Boys
Bloggers Stefan and Sebastien may be nomads, but they aren’t traveling far in our Travel ranking, sticking around for another year. Their blog ‘Nomadic Boys’, which also features in our LGBTQ+ blog ranking, has a mission to ‘inspire and show gay travellers that they can visit more places in the world than they thought possible’. Sharing first-hand accounts of past adventures, this blog helps readers plan safe and fun trips. Want more from these bloggers? Check out their book ‘Out in the World: The Gay Guide to Travelling with Pride’.
Staying seated at number five is ‘Emily Luxton Travels’, which does what it says on the tin. Writing about ‘solo female adventure and slower, deeper travel’, Emily has a plethora of experiences to share with her readers, having taken trips to over 50 countries (and counting) so far. Always focusing on ‘connecting with a new place as deeply and honestly as I can’, Emily’s ‘deep travel’ style means getting to know the locals, exploring the culture, and trying the food rather than ticking off ‘top ten’ tourist spots. If you’re interested in doing the same, travel over to this blog.
Up from number eight is ‘You Could Travel’, which focuses on both travel and culture in Japan. Aimed at a global audience who want to learn about the country’s rich heritage, the blog features travel guides, itineraries, and cultural insights. Check out updated and extensive travel guides to Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nagoya, Okinawa, and many more prime locations, and then dig into the latest posts on specific activities worth booking, speaking the local language, and where to get the best high tea.
Wander no more if you are in search of practical travel advice to help you plan a trip and get the most of it – here is Ellie at ‘The Wandering Quinn’ to offer aid. Up from number nine, this blog comes to you from a self-confessed ‘travel addict’, who has been to over 70 countries, in seven continents so far. When not travelling during her 20s, Ellie was researching her next trip, so knows her subject well. For those asking themselves ‘Where to next?’ scroll to the search bar on the home page and type in destination ideas – Ellie is sure to have the expertise you need.
Why just travel when you can also ‘save money and get the most out of your weekend breaks’? This is what’s on offer at ‘The Travel Hack’, which was started by Monica Stott during a backpacking trip around Asia and Australia back in 2009. Documenting her weekend trips and budget breaks, Monica mixes motherhood with microadventures, making this blog the perfect destination for parents planning family vacations. To read now – how to globetrot on a tight budget, plan your dream cruise holiday, and tips for getting around London.
We welcome a new arrival to the number nine spot – luxury travel blog ‘Pocket Wanderings’ by Jessie Moore. Sharing ‘destination guides, travel tips, hotel reviews’, and ‘a healthy dose of adventure’, Jessie is here to take her readers ‘across countries, continents, and cultures’. Whether you’re looking for ‘a solo city break, a romantic countryside getaway or an adrenaline-filled adventure’, this blogger brings her own ‘personal travel experience and advice – so grab a cup of tea and get inspired’.
10. A Lady in London
We check out of our UK travel blog ranking for another year with our tenth blogger – ‘A Lady in London’. Despite hailing from San Francisco originally, this lady certainly knows her way around the UK capital. Take note from her six-day itinerary for a stay in London, as well as the 25 best afternoon teas to track down during your trip. And if that has made you thirsty, take a look at 15 recommended pub walks to try, as well as a self-guided Paddington Walk, if marmalade sandwiches are more your thing.
Collaborating with bloggers requires mutual respect and understanding: respect their schedules; take time to read their content to learn their interests; and only contact them if/when they want to be contacted.
Profiles of these blogs and their authors can be found in the Vuelio Media Database.
