QUIZ: What Type of Social Media User Are You?
Are you a social media ‘mover and shaker’? Do you observe rather than participate with your network? or are you downright unconvinced of the value social media has to offer?
Love it or hate it, there is really no escaping social media – whether it is the signature Facebook ‘Like’ icon, Twitter’s bluebird or the other apps that have found their way into our personal and professional lives. But just as there are all sorts of people that make up the world, so are there all sorts of social media user types that make up the world of digital personas.
Every year Cision and Canterbury Christ Church University survey UK journalists about their use of social media. Previous studies identified five different types of journalists; Sceptics, Observers, Hunters, Promoters and Architects.
These groups possess certain characteristics that distinguish them based on their social media use, from frequency, gender biases, and preferences to outlook on digital media. The usage patterns tracked over the past three years suggests an increasing polarisation in usage in relation to social media use and attitudes. This year we at Cision decided to complement our study with a fun interactive quiz so that you could find out what kind of a social media journalist you would be.
Take the quiz NOW to find out if you’re an architect, promoter, hunter or observer…and if you’re still with us, a sceptic.
I am an observer first of all. At times I become a promoter of the social media, this is actually when I am convinced or influenced by some news or the quality of the work the social media does.
