UK Government

Nick Hurd has been appointed as an Independent Adviser to the Prime Minister on Grenfell.

Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Oliver Dowden has appointed Hemant Patel as a Non-Executive Board Member for a term of three years.

Business Secretary Alok Sharma reappoints Andrea Coscelli as the Chief Executive Officer of the Competition and Markets Authority.

Ken McCallum has been named as the new head of MI5.

Jeremy Pocklington appointed the new Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Professor Sarah Worthington appointed as Trustee of the British Museum.

Alex Chisholm has been announced as the new Permanent Secretary at the Cabinet Office and Chief Operating Officer for the Civil Service.

  House of Lords 

Earl of Selborne (Non-affiliated, hereditary peer) retired from the House of Lords on 26th March. A hereditary peer by-election will take place in due course.

Baroness Penn replaces Baroness Berridge as Government Whip (Baroness in Waiting).

Lord Garel-Jones (Conservative, life peer) died on 24th March.

Lord Graham of Edmonton (Labour/Co-op, life peer) died on 20th March.

Colin McGrath replaced Sinead Bradley as a member of the Health Committee.

Sarah Olney replaced Munira Wilson as Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Transport.
