  Government Departments

Home Office

• John Ashton has been appointed as the new Scientific Adviser at the Home Office.

Department for Education

• Eileen Milner has been appointed Chief Executive of the Education and Skills Funding Agency. She will take up her position in November.

Department for Transport

• Les Chapman is the new Secretary of State’s Representative at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
• Peter Mumford has been appointed interim Major Projects Executive Director at Highways England.

Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

• Nicholas Griffin, Claire-Marie Roberts, Frances Akor and Nicola Phillips have been appointed members of the UK Anti-Doping Board.

• The House of Commons is in recess. The House will return on Tuesday 5th September.

•  The House of Lords is in recess. The House will return on Tuesday 5th September.

Devolved Institutions

 Scottish Parliament

• The Scottish Parliament is in recess until Tuesday 5th September.

 Welsh Assembly

• The Welsh Assembly is in recess until Monday 18th September.
