Government
Andrew Higgins, Elisabeth Davies, Martin Barnes, Nick Hanning and Rhodri Williams have been appointed as members of the Civil Justice Council (more info).
Bill Dickson, David Lyall and Peter Judge have been appointed to the board of the Marine Management Organisation (more info).
Jil Matheson and Jane Sawyers have been appointed to the board of the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (more info).
Ellie Simmonds, Lyndsey Jackson and Nick Timothy have been named as Non-Executive Directors of the Committee for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (more info).
Nicholas Coleridge has been reappointed as Chair of the Victoria and Albert Museum, for a term of four years (more info).
Charles Garrett has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic. He will take up this role in June 2019 (more info).
House of Commons
Robert Courts has replaced Alex Chalk on the Justice Committee (more info).
Sam Gyimah has replaced Neil O’Brien on the Science and Technology Committee (more info).
House of Lords
Lord Reay was elected as a Conservative hereditary peer.
Scottish Government
Maureen Mallon has taken up the role of interim Chief Executive of the Scottish Charity Regulator, replacing David Robb from 28 January (more info).
Conservative Party
Caroline Preston has been appointed as Director of Communications (more info).
European Parliament
This week, MEPs are in Brussels for Committees and Groups, and a plenary session will be held on 30 and 31 January.
