Government departments
Foreign and Commonwealth Office
Samuel Thomas has been appointed Her Majesty’s first ever resident Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
Professor Lynn Gladden has been selected as Executive Chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. She will replace Philip Nelson.
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
Chris Nicholson has been appointed as Chair of the Animal and Plant Health Agency Board
Department for Transport
Steve Clinch will retire as Chief Inspector of the Marine Accident Investigation Branch at the end of June.
Ministry of Defence
Mark Carleton-Smith will replace Nick Carter as Chief of the General Staff in June.
Cabinet Office
Antony Edwards-Stuart has replaced Stephen Sibler as the new Deputy Chair of the Security Vetting Appeals Panel.
Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport
Sue James and Natalie Ceeney have been appointed to the Board of Sport England. Mohamed Elsarky will be appointed on 29th October.
Ministry of Justice
Mary Carter and Luke Corkill have been appointed as members of the Prison Service Pay Review Body.
Non-Ministerial Departments
Howard Cartlidge has been appointed Senior Director, Cartels at the Competition and Markets Authority.
House of Commons
Heidi Alexander has resigned as the Labour MP for Lewisham East. A by-election will be held on 14th June.
Jack Brereton has replaced Martin Vickers as a member of the Transport Select Committee.
European Parliament
This week, the European Parliament will be in Brussels for Committee meetings.
