Political Updates 13 August 2018
This week’s Political Updates, covers moves and changes at all levels of government.
Government departments
Steph Lis has been appointed special adviser to Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union Dominic Raab. She was previously Director of Communications at the Institute of Economic Affairs (more info).
Thomas Harding has been appointed special adviser to Secretary of State for Defence Gavin Williamson.
HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has appointed Lakh Jemmet as Non-Executive Director to the HMCTS Board (more info).
Hayley Campbell-Gibbons will become a member of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board on 1st November. George Lyon and Paul Temple have also been reappointed to the Board (more info).
Andrew Haines will take over as Chief Executive of Network Rail on 14 August (more info).
Scottish Government
Minister for Community Safety Ash Denham has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Burnley CBE as a Lay Member of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland. Her role will run from 9 August 2018 to 8 August 2022 (more info).
European Parliament
The European Parliament is currently in summer recess.
