- Alan Rusbridger will step down as editor of the Guardian next summer after 20 years at the helm. Rusbridger will become chair of the Scott Trust, replacing Liz Fogan, in 2016
- Aimee Donnellan has been appointed banking correspondent at The Sunday Times
- Ed Walker, digital development editor of Trinity Mirror Regionals, is joining getreading as publisher. Lucy Thorne, currently news editor of The Wokingham Times and The Bracknell Times, will take the role of deputy publisher
- John Micklethwait is leaving The Economist to become editor-in-chief of Bloomberg. He has been editor at The Economist since 2006
- Matt Holmes, deputy editor, The Citizen, has been appointed editor of the Gloucestershire Echo
- Debbie James has announced on Twitter that she has left her role as head of content at the Daily Post (Wales)
- Peter Kay has left the Sheffield Telegraph, where he had been news editor. Richard Blackledge has joined the title as a reporter
- Jess Bowie has been appointed editor of Civil Service News, replacing Matt Ross. Bowie was previously deputy editor at Total Politics

- Tom Ravenscroft has been appointed deputy editor at Construction Manager, the magazine announced on Twitter
- Katherine Brook has been appointed as a reporter at Convenience Store
- Maxine Kelly has been appointed deputy editor at Pensions Expert
- Sam Macdonald has been appointed as a reporter at HFMWeek
Fashion, Lifestyle & Entertainment
- Karen Walker has been appointed acting deputy editor at Good Homes
- Former make-up artist Yadim has been announced as beauty editor at Dazed & Confused and Dazed Digital
- Sabine Wiesel has been appointed beauty editor at Prima
- Elizabeth Hudson has been appointed acting editor at Style at Home, covering Jennifer Morgan’s maternity leave
- Dennis Publishing has agreed the purchase of CrossStitcher, Cross Stitch Collection and Your Family Tree
- Ink Publishing has moved headquarters. Its new address is Blackburn House, Blackburn Road, London, NW6 1RZ

- Tom Morgan has announced on Twitter his appointment as product editor at Computer Shopper and expertreviews
- Lalah-Simone Springer has been appointed senior content producer at Pulse
- David Scarborough has left gamesTM, where he had been a feature writer
- The Mobile Entertainment website has closed
