David Dinsmore appointed editor of The Sun
David Dinsmore has been appointed editor of The Sun. The surprise move will see him replace Dominic Mohan, who will take up a senior role advising News Corp chief executive Robert Thomson.
Dominic has been with the paper for 17 years and editor since 2009. In his new role he will be exploring strategic opportunities for new News Corp across Europe.
David is currently the director of operations at News International and will take up the new role on Monday. David was previously the editor of The Scottish Sun and general manager of the company’s operations in Scotland.
Mike Darcey, CEO of News International said: ‘David has a proven track record on the paper over two decades and has recently helped steer the Premier League project with great skill and vision’. The Premier League content that will be available to subscribers of Sun+ is seen as integral to The Sun’s business model in the future.
This is the first major editorial change since the new News Corp was formed.
