Cision v PeerIndex: social media influence fashion shakedown
As part of our London Fashion Week celebrations, our researchers have worked up a series of social media rankings for fashionistas for a range of platforms: blogs, Facebook, forums, and, of course, Twitter.
We wanted to compare some of our influence calculations with those of our friends at PeerIndex, who’ve kindly prepared their own take on the most influential fashionistas on Twitter. Here’s the PeerIndex top ten:
- @hilaryalexander
- @susiebubble
- @gemmacartwright
- @fashionscout
- @topshop_tweets
- @lil_missfashion
- @thefashpack
- @jaimelondonboy
- @cocosteaparty
- @fashionfutures
It’s an interesting blend of meatspace media stalwarts, power PRs, upstart bloggers and commercial handles – much like the mix in Cision’s top fashion tweeps and top tweeting fashion media. Some names are the same, but there are also key differences – as one would expect, with two similar, but variant, methodologies that attempt to quantify a concept as slippery as online influence.
