Blogger Spotlight: Zanna van Dijk
Zanna van Dijk is a Top 10 Fitness and Exercise Blogger as well as being a personal trainer, coach, vlogger, author and first female UK Adidas Global Ambassador. Passionate about empowering women, Zanna uses her eponymous blog not only to cover fitness but also healthy eating, mental wellbeing, brunch and travel. Here, Zanna tells us about her love of nut butter, her glute band and how she collaborates with brands.
How would you describe your blog?
An eclectic mix of evidence based fitness and nutrition with light-hearted lifestyle and travel content. A little space on the internet to get away from everyday life and learn something new!
Why did you start your blog?
Because I have loved reading blogs for about eight years now, and I wanted to get in on the action and have my own little outlet on the internet.
What makes your blog different from other fitness blogs?
I like to call myself a “’blogger with a purpose’. I try to dig deeper than most bloggers and touch on topics that mean a lot to me outside of just fitness and food. I talk a lot about mindfulness, reducing plastic consumption and eating in a sustainable way which supports our planet.
What’s the next big fitness trend going to be?
I think the current trend which is hopefully here to stay is ‘balance’ and the ‘anti-diet’ culture.
What piece of equipment or tech is your go-to workout companion?
A glute band. This is a small looped resistance band which targets your glutes and makes them burn like fire!
What was your favourite blog post to create and why?
My passionate post about what I stand for as a blogger!
How do you see your blog developing in the future?
I am gradually expanding the topics to cover things beyond fitness. I do a vast amount of travel guides, lots of lifestyle posts, mindfulness tips and also touch on environmental issues.
What makes your blog successful?
Well that’s a big question! I think I still have a long way to go with it. However, I think the one thing that I am proud of with my blog is my consistency. I have uploaded at least two posts a week for the past two years!
How do you like to work with PRs?
On an open collaborative basis. I like to work together to create content which meets both our needs! Ultimately, this leads to better engagement down the line and a better long-term relationship.
What one thing should PRs know about you?
I love nut butter… if anyone handles any nut butter brands hit me up…! Haha, seriously though, I don’t like things packaged in excessive amounts of plastic. I am a bit of an ecowarrior.
What are your favourite blogs to read (outside of your own!)?
Carly Rowena and The Food Medic. Two inspiring, positive women.
What’s your favourite workout class or routine?
I love UN1T classes. I am an instructor there so perhaps I am biased, but it’s one of the best classes in London. It’s certainly the sweatiest!
