Aspectus PR appoints Martin O’Connor regional director as it expands into Asia
Aspectus PR has announced the opening of an office in Singapore and the appointment of Martin O’Connor as regional director.
Martin comes to Aspectus with considerable international experience, having held leadership roles with consultancies in the UK, Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brussels and Atlanta.
Previous regional and global roles include director of corporate communications, BT Asia-Pacific; vice president external affairs; BT Worldwide and chief communications officer at PCCW, the Hong Kong based communications and technology group. Martin has also worked as a consultant with multinationals including Vodafone, Coca-Cola, Electrolux and Eli Lilly.
The move marks the agency’s first foray into Asia, aimed at expanding their global business while providing localised marketing and PR solutions to existing international clients.
Alastair Turner, global group director, Aspectus PR, said: ‘We are already operating in this region for our international clients. It is the engine of growth for many of them and, as such, we must be there to support them. And as a specialist player we believe we are also well positioned to help regional businesses with international ambitions within our core markets. This move also gives us a great opportunity for further growth and we will now have centres of real excellence in New York, London and Singapore supporting our specialist markets.’
Martin added: ‘I have watched Aspectus’ development and growth for many years. Its success is built on intelligence, real market knowledge and expertise, a sense of shared purpose, humility and an all-consuming focus on value and results for its clients. When the opportunity arose for me to join, it was a pretty easy decision to make.’
