News & current affairs
- Paul Clarkson has been appointed managing editor at The Sun. He was previously editor at the Irish Sun and succeeds Stig Abell who has been appointed TLS editor. Paul starts his role on April 20th.
In other Sun moves, The Times Scotland editor Les Snowdon becomes assistant editor in London and starts his role in June. Deputies Alan Muir and Kieran McDaid are being made acting editors at the Scottish and Irish Sun respectively. Also Jamie Sanderson has been appointed sport social editor at the Sun (Online). He was previously the sports editor at Metro.co.uk
- Iain Pope has returned to the Daily Record and Sunday Mail as head of digital news. He was previously working for STV
- Felicity Morse has been appointed digital news editor at the i. She is currently the social media editor at BBC Newsbeat
- CN Group has appointed Deanne Shallcross as its first West Cumbria editor following a restructure of its editorial team. She is currently deputy editor of the Workington-based weekly Times & Star and will assume responsibility for that title, the Whitehaven News, their associated websites, supplements and spin-off publications. Deanne will be supported by Gillian Ellison, as head of content for West Cumbria and Nicole Regan, head of digital content for West Cumbria. Steve Johnston, who has edited the Times & Star for 13 years, has taken voluntary redundancy, and Colin Edgar, editor of the Whitehaven News since 2004, has chosen to step down from his current position and will take a role in the newly-created group production hub.
- Joe Kasper has been appointed reporter at the Daily Star. He was previously a reporter at Dover Express
- Amy Lewis has joined ITV News and ITV London as sports reporter. She was previously a news reporter at Sky Sports News
- Alice McKeegan has been appointed head of football at the Manchester Evening News for both print and online and will be looking after the news coverage on the biggest teams in the Premier League, Manchester City and Manchester United

- Russ Williams has replaced Andrew Castle as host of the Breakfast show on Smooth London
- Jonathan Harker is stepping down as editor at BikeBiz. He will remain as editor up until the end of May
- Leanne Wilcox has been appointed editor at EAUX Luxury Lifestyle. She was previously editorial assistant at Wedding and Wedding Flowers & Accessories
- Katie Berrington has been promoted to junior digital editor at Vogue. She was previously the digital editorial assistant at the website
- There have been a couple of changes at Bella, Lynn Carratt has been appointed celebrity writer and Amy Lo has been appointed junior celebrity writer
- Olivia Ovenden has been appointed digital writer at Esquire
- Emily Thorpe has been appointed editorial assistant at Mother & Baby and Top Santé. Also Nikki Dutton has been promoted to staff writer at Mother & Baby

- Alex Hawkes has left his role as managing editor at Capacity and Global Telecom Business
- Ravender Sembhy has been appointed city editor at the PRESS ASSOCIATION and starts on April 18th. He joins from City A.M. where he is the news editor
- Jake Cordell has been appointed economics and markets reporter at City A.M.
- Clare Hutchison has been appointed retail correspondent at the London Evening Standard. She was previously the online business reporter at the title
- Joanna S. Kao is set to join the Financial Times as a data visualization journalist in May
- Sarah Welsh has been appointed editor at Gifts Today. She replaces Penny Franks who is leaving the title to work exclusively on Lema Publishing’s sister title Nursery Today
- Jo Gilbert has been appointed senior reporter at Harpers Wine & Spirit. She was previously a senior reporter at the East Grinstead Courier & Observer
- Joel Durkin has been appointed features editor at North West Business Insider. He was previously the business and data analyst at Farmers Guardian
- Hannah Thompson has been appointed multimedia editor at BigHospitality. She was previously a reporter at The Caterer
Health, science and technology
- Time Inc. UK’s Innovation Lab has today launched Live-Smart, a new lifestyle site dedicated to smart tech. Nick Merritt has been appointed editor of the website
- Lilian Anekwe has been appointed deputy editor at Chemist+Druggist. She was previously editor at Pharmafocus and Pharmafile
