Blogger spotlight: Julie Falconer, A Lady in London
What’s new on the A Lady in London blog? I’ve just launched a new monthly newsletter, which is really exciting. It will cover all things lovely London and stylish travel.
Why should people read your blog? People should read it to discover new places to explore and experience in London and great travel destinations across the globe.
How do you measure the success of your website? There are a lot of factors I use to measure the success of the blog, from unique monthly visitors to social media engagement.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog? I’ve written an eBook on that very subject, so I would recommend they read the book or attend one of my blogging classes in London.
How do you use social media to promote/share content? What are the challenges? I use social media to share content from my blog and to offer my followers a real-time look into what I’m discovering in London and across the globe. The challenge is always keeping the quality high while maintaining consistency.
What can PRs do in working better with you? They can make sure that they only contact me about relevant opportunities. It’s always nice to work with PRs that understand the kinds of things I cover and approach me with ideas that are a great fit for my audience.
What has been your blogging highlight? There have been many, but the biggest has been all of the positive feedback I get from readers. It’s great to hear from them and know that they love what they’re seeing on the blog. It’s particularly nice when I hear from a reader that has booked a trip based on what they’ve read on A Lady in London.
What will be big in your blogosphere in the coming months? The new newsletter will be big, as well as some exciting upcoming trips and events in London. Stay tuned!
Yahoo ranked your blog as #3 Top Travel blogs in the UK, how does that feel? It feels great! I’ve been running the blog for over 8 years, so it’s always rewarding to see the hard work paying off.
