Blogger Spotlight: Laetitia Wajnapel of leading fashion blog, Mademoiselle Robot
Laetitia Wajnapel of Mademoiselle Robot ranks among the top 10 fashion bloggers in the country. In this interview she spoke to us about London Fashion Week, new blogging platforms and the three best practices every PR must keep in mind for better blogger outreach.
What’s new on Mademoiselle Robot? The big news right now is that I am attending LFW again this season after a 3 years break, so I am looking forward to see what has changed/what hasn’t! For the site itself, I am now working to monthly themes which is helping me keep things fresh!
What advice would you give to a someone who wants to start a blog? I was having this conversation with a budding blogger earlier today and I think these days you can start with only Instagram and/or YouTube, introducing the blog later down the line. The way we consume media has changed a lot in the past decade, and now the way we consume online content is also evolving, with a strong move towards instant updates provided on SnapChat, Instagram and the likes. I still think blogging is the most important thing, but people get their daily “fix” on many different platforms besides the blog.
How do you work with PRs? Through direct personal contact.
Do you feel bloggers need to be compensated for the work they do? Absolutely, and I have been a strong supporter of this from the get go.
What do you feel about sponsorship disclosure? It is extremely important to be transparent and disclosure is mandatory.
List three best practices PRs need to follow for better blogger outreach?
What will be big in your blogosphere in the coming months? Live updating via Snapchat and Periscope seem to be the thing.
