Valentine’s Day ads on Twitter: The Misfits
Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and along with the love and mush in the air, there is a retail boom with an estimated £1.6bn to be spent on gifts to celebrate the occasion. But while chocolates, flowers, jewellery and (even) stuff toys are the popular choices, marketed in abundance, social media has made it possible for unlikely brands and campaigns to join the Valentine’s Day marketing extravaganza. Here’s a look at some of the unusual suspects spreading love on Twitter in unusual ways:
