Speedy Spotlight: Polly’s Little World
An interview with mummy blogger Polly Williams, author of Polly’s Little World. She spoke to us about keeping her blog personal and honest, the significance of good product reviews and working closely with brand marketers this year.
Why should people read your blog?
I blog about the day-to-day experiences and opinions of a (not-so) glamourous mummy.
What makes your blog different?
I like to keep my blog personal to us and our lives. I guess I also give my honest opinions on so many subjects and products.
What’s your favourite blog and why?
Mummy Daddy Me is one of my favourite blog as her style of writing and photography is excellent and very original.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog?
When starting, it’s great to get your blog on social media sites. You can share your latest posts and meet like-minded bloggers. Also keep you blog personal, people like to read something they relate to, not fantasy.
How does a good PR work with you?
Blogs can be key to brands and new products. When a good review is posted and people read it they are influenced by reviews. When reading a good review you have confidence and trust in the bloggers honest opinion.
What do PRs do that’s bad?
Bad PR would be not compromising with the blogger -it is their space of the Internet and they need to agree on working together not for each other.
What was your blogging highlight of 2013?
There has been so many since I started in August, just generally the interest people have taken amazes me.
What will be big in your blogosphere in 2014?
I would love to work with new brands, launching new products and hopefully attending events this year.
