Grow Movement charity brings in Rain Communications to drive awareness
The charity Grow Movement has brought in PR firm Rain Communications to drive awareness of its mission, which is to help entrepreneurs in Africa build their businesses.
Grow Movement uses the business consultancy skills of its global volunteer team – known as volunteer consultants – to transform the lives of entrepreneurs by sharing business skills over Skype, phone and email. Consultants are asked to volunteer for a 12-week programme with a minimum time commitment of one hour per call, identifying areas for coaching and improvement.
Rain Communications will help drive a call-out within the retail sector in order to encourage experts in the field to come on board and guide small merchants in Uganda, Malawi and Rwanda on how to run their businesses more effectively and create local jobs.
The agency’s communication strategy will cover all areas of business media both national and trade, in order to hit key influencers, as well as third sector press and targeting of retail trade associations, general management and HR publications.
Rain Communications has been briefed to highlight key case studies and existing entrepreneur and mentor relationships to key influencers and to the media in order to reach out to all areas of retail including marketing, financial planning and product placement.
Rain Communications has a growing third-sector client base, including Avon UK’s CSR programmes for domestic violence and breast cancer and a recently completed campaign for the British Red Cross to mark 150 years of the Red Cross Movement.
