Dame Christine Ryan appointed next chair of Ofsted. She replaces Professor Julius Weinberg and will take up her new role at Ofsted from 1 August 2020.
Dr Catherine McClellan has joined Ofqual’s Board, with effect from 1 June 2020.
Rear Admiral Peter Sparkes, the current UK National Hydrographer and Deputy Chief Executive, has been appointed to the position of Acting Chief Executive and Accounting Officer at the UK Hydrographic Office. He will replace Tim Lowe CBE who is retiring.
Sandra Wallace and Steven Cooper have been appointed as interim chairs of the Social Mobility Commission.
Richard Irvine has been named as the new Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer (DCVO) for the United Kingdom.
David Concar has been appointed British High Commissioner to the United Republic of Tanzania in succession to Sarah Cooke.
Angela MacDonald has been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive and Second Permanent Secretary at HM Revenue and Customs. She will take up this role from 1 August 2020.
Robin Budenberg has been reappointed as Chair of the Crown Estate Board.
House of Commons
Stephanie Peacock has replaced Conor McGinn as a member of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee.
Andy Slaughter, Christina Rees, Maria Eagle, Owen Thompson and Richard Burgeon replaced Chris Elmore, Conor McGinn, Grahame Morris and Imran Hussain as members of the Joint Committee on Consolidation, &c., Bills.
Labour Party
Karen Buck has been appointed as Shadow Minister for Social Security.
Scottish Government
Jackie Mann has been appointed as a non-executive Audit Scotland board member. Colin Crosby will take up the same post on 1 October 2020.
Welsh Parliament
Laura Anne Jones has been elected as the Member of the Welsh Parliament for South Wales East, following the death of Mohammad Asghar last month.
Gareth Bennett has changed from Independent to Abolish the Welsh Assembly Party.
