Government departments
Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
Malcolm Morley has replaced David Batters as Chair of Radioactive Waste Management.
Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport
Bob Downes has been appointed as the first Board Member for Scotland.
Department for Education
Kathryn August and Pamela Scriven have replaced Linda Farrant and Paul Snell as members of the Ofsted Board. John Huges reappointed to the board.
HM Treasury
Clare Lombardelli has been appointed as Chief Economic Adviser.
Gertjan Vlieghe has been reappointed as an External Member of the Monetary Policy Committee.
Department for Transport
Peter Mumford has been appointed as Executive Director of Major Projects & Capital Portfolio Management at Highways England.
Foreign and Commonwealth Office
Matthew Field has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Andrew Noble has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Romania.
Non-Ministerial Departments
Baroness Stowell has been named as the preferred candidate for Chair of the Charity Commission.
House of Commons
The House of Commons will be in recess from Friday 9 February and will return on Tuesday 20 February.
House of Lords
The House of Lords will be in recess from Friday 9 February and will return on Tuesday 20 February.
Lord Sutherland of Houndwood died on 29th January 2018.
Lord McAvoy has been appointed as a member of four committees: the Privileges and Conduct Committee, Procedure Committee, Selection Committee and Services Committee.
European Parliament
This week, the European Parliament will be in Strasbourg for group meetings and plenary sessions.
