House of Commons
- The House of Commons has been dissolved ahead of the general election. The House will return on Monday 19th June. All Prospective Parliamentary Candidates have been announced.
House of Lords
- The House of Lords has been prorogued ahead of the general election. The House will return on Monday 19th June.
- Life Peer and former historian and writer Lord Thomas of Swynnerton has passed away aged 85.
Devolved Institutions
- The BBC have announced a 90 minute live election debate occurring on Sunday 21st May with six Scottish Leaders, and will feature the SNP’s Nicola Sturgeon, Conservative’s Ruth Davidson, Labour’s Kezia Dugdale, the Liberal Democrat’s Willie Rennie, the Green Party’s Patrick Harvie and UKIP’s David Coburn.
Northern Ireland Assembly
- Northern Ireland has until the 29th June to reach an agreement that will restore a power-sharing devolved executive.
European Parliament
- This week, the European Parliament will be holding plenary meetings in Strasbourg.
